If we had to pinpoint the return of the braid as a fashion statement, it’d be the side braids at Alexander Wang’s SS09 show.  Since then, they’ve become wispier, and more Heidi-like, piled high atop the head.  On runways, they’re pulled to the side, messy and undone—in many ways it’s the perfect summer hairstyle (especially this summer), but like many beauty trends the most carefree looking ones are often the hardest to replicate.
